Shoes, Shoes and more Shoes!

We have entered the "shoe" phase!

She never keeps her shoes on in the car (we entered this portion of the phase many months ago)! I have fought this battle over and over and I now give up.

She now has 1 pair of shoes she wants to wear ALL the time. They are $5 dollar fake crocs from WM that are cute for the pool but not with every outfit! I have won this battle several times.

And the best part of the "shoe" phase is that she LOVES to wear our shoes around the house. If I can't find her in the house, most times she is in my closet trying to figure out which pair she'll try next. I have been trying to collect several pictures with her wearing them, but that has been another challenge. As soon as she sees me with the camera, she'll take off the shoes and run over to me as quickly as she can to "see" the pictures. After that, there's no hope of getting a good picture. So, I have to turn on the camera in another room (bc my camera makes a sound when I turn it on) and sneak up on her to take a picture. Here are some of the shots I have managed to get...enjoy!

Am I old enough...

to have babysat someone that is now married? When Ashton was in 2nd grade, I had the privilege of taking her to and picking her up from school and watching her until her mom got home. Because of this, I was able to get my hardship drivers lisence a few months earlier than my 16th birthday! Ashton and I had lots of fun together in the afternoons and I enjoyed always helping her with her piano practice!

Ashton is now a wife to Todd and they had a beautiful wedding. Her wedding and reception was at our church, where Clayton and I married 5 years ago. I always enjoy going back to my home church, but being there for a wedding brings back many memories of my day as well. Ashton and Todd have been dating for MANY years so they have awaited this day for a LONG time. I think they have been dating since before Clayton and I began dating, almost 7 years ago. Camille was a little grumpy during the wedding/reception due to no nap (but we won't call names to those responsible) so I didn't get any smiling pictures of her. Camille REALLY enjoyed stuff the entire strawberries in her mouth! I had to pull several out to get the green leaves off in time. And now her dress has some red polka dots along with her black polka dots. Thank goodness for stain removers!

Talented SIL

Here are some updated pictures of our family taken by talented SIL, Lisa Woods. When we were in Austin a few weekends ago, she took some shots of us downtown. I wasn't completely prepared with the best outfits, but none the less, she did a great job! Enjoy!

July Happenings

We have had so much fun this month, that I forgot to post anything! Here is a run through on our busy month. Clayton went back to work today and I will be going back in 2 weeks. Summer is coming to an end quickly. Enjoy!
We were so excited when Clayton finally got to stay home with us during the day! We took him to enjoy the zoo with us one day. Camille loved getting to feed the birds for the first time. She liked them eating off of her stick, but she did not like them sitting on her stick. One bird got on her stick and she immediately started shaking it so it would fly away.

Happy Birthday, America! Camille, Clayton and I rode on our church float during the town parade. It was HOT, but so much fun! Camille was enjoying a sucker before the parade even began.
Camille and Emaline...sweet girls together! Camille's cooling off at the town's festivities that afternoon. She enjoyed a jump house, great music to dance to, playground and lots of room to run and play before the fireworks began. She loved the fireworks! We had a great view and it was beautiful! Camille enjoyed her very first trip to Chuck E Cheese! We had a blast and will be back many more times! The best part right now is that she doesn't care if we don't put tokens in the rides to make them move! Carter and Camille riding the fire truck.
Mylie and Camille riding together.

Mallory came to stay a whole week with us in the middle of July. Camille LOVES Mallallallory! And it was great to have a live in babysitter for a week! She was here during our VBS so she got to dress up with us and help out. Our VBS was a Power Lab so we dressed silly each night. While Mallory was here, we enjoyed a Rangers Game, Chuck E Cheese, swimming, and lots of fun!

Mallory and Camille have matching shoes!
Mallory and I got to go swimming one day by ourselves while Camille was sleeping.
I had a 4 day workshop to attend during the day so Clayton and Camille enjoyed lots of time together! Clayton surprised me by even putting bows her in her hair! They had so much fun together! Here they are at the Botanical Gardens. The last weekend in July, we went to Austin to spend time with Clayton's family. We stayed at Bubbie and Poppa's house. Camille enjoyed all of her cousin time and chocolate milk!

Friday night Asia and Titus were over at Bubbie's and they all 3 enjoyed a bubble bath together. There were LOTS of bubbles!
Camille also enjoyed their stairs! This was the first time that I felt somewhat comfortable letting her go up and down them by herself. For the most part, she did really well holding the rail or sitting on her bottom to slide down. But, once when we were paying attention, she was attempting to bring down a chair from upstairs. We're not sure how far she tumbled, but we all heard the tumbling and crash on the tile floor. She cried for just a minute and then had a red spot around her eye. That was gone in a couple of days and it never slowed her down. Saturday we celebrated Titus' birthday at their house in Kyle and then enjoyed swimming at their pool.I LOVE this cousin picture!
