Powerful Prayer

My heart is very heavy today as I read that sweet Jayde went to be with Jesus last night. I haven't stopped praying and thinking about this sweet family since I heard about their early arrival into the world. I am so amazed everytime I visit their blog how many people that are praying for them continuously. I am so thankful to be able to witness the power of prayer at work. It is hard for me to comprehend life without knowing Jesus. Where do you turn to in hard times? There is such a deep need for love and assurance in hard times that only He can provide. Reading the prayers and thoughts from Jaymie and Kory's friends and family remind me of how thankful we should be to be surrounded by Christians in this fallen world. This is how we encourage one another through Christ Jesus. Please continue to pray for the health of baby Kanyon and the strength of Jaymie and Kory. Being a new mom and remembering all the emotions that come with just that, I want to say a special pray for Jaymie and her recovery as well. If you have not left them an encouraging note, please do so on their blog.

God is good!

God is faithful!

God is love!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Camille is now officially rolling over from her stomach to back. She rolled over twice in one day at daycare when she was 2 months old...but not again until last Friday. I put her in her bed Friday night on her stomach and when I went back in to check on her, she was on her back. She did it again Saturday morning when I went in to feed her. It was a while before anyone actually SAW her do it, though. Tuesday night I laid her on her blanket in the living room and watched her roll over. I was the first to see it! She is a pro at it now. She has even rolled over to her back and slept on her back a couple of times. She's about to start moving all over the place. She has also found her feet and loves grabbing them. I tell Clayton she is practicing her toe-touch for her future cheerleading career...he definitely doesn't enjoy that comment! She is at such a fun stage right now and I don't want her to keep growing! She's already 5 months old...where did that time go? Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks:
Daddy and his sweetheart...don't you love those rolls!

Sweet Dreams!

She LOVES looking at herself in the mirror! Aunt B is pretty excited as well!

Camille and Aunt Brooke...we went to Nana and Grandad's last weekend at the end of Brooke's Spring Break.

5 Months Old! She loves to push up on her hands!

Church families

This weekend, Clayton and I decided to go spend the night at my parents' house on Saturday and go to church with them this morning. My sister was home for Spring Break and many people at church had not seen Camille. Families are such a blessing and we always enjoy spending time with them when we can. Going back to the church I grew up in my entire life is always encouraging. It has been almost 10 years since I attended this church regularly, but when I walk into this building, there are always so many faces that are so special to me and have their part in my faith walk. There are many new faces that I don't know but I always enjoy the many hugs I recieve from my church family. This morning I realized how time really does go buy quickly. I feel like an old woman saying this, but as I looked through the first 3 rows of the youth group, I found girls that I used to babysit. Clayton and I feel very blessed to be a part of a wonderful church in Trophy Club and know Camille will enjoy her memories there.

Camille is becoming more and more fun each day. She is smiling, laughing and talking so much much these days! She also has her high pitch squeal down very well. She loves looking in the mirrors and talking to herself. She knows a cute baby when she sees one. One of the cutest things Clayton and I like to see is her pushing herself up on her arms when she is in her crib. If we walk in to get her and she's pushing up, all we see is her sweet face peeking over her bumper pads. It's so sweet! Friday night and Saturday morning she turned over from her stomach to her back in her crib. We never actually saw her turn over, she was just on her back when we went in to get her.

Cute pictures coming shortly...the camera is still in the car from the weekend at Nana and Grandad's.

Starting Solids

I guess since my last post was so dramatic, I thought I could go awhile before having a new post. Camille is doing great now and was back to normal that Sunday. Here is Camille enjoying her activity station she got from Santa.
Camille began cereal! She loves it! She is 4 1/2 months and I wasn't going to start it until 6 months. She has began to reach for our drinks and food, so I thought I would give it a try. We also began it when she was having diarrhea to hopefully give her some substance. It worked! We're still working on being a little cleaner when eating, but she is definitely enjoying it. I don't plan on starting on fruits and vegetables for a little while longer, but I am planning on making my own baby food. My friend Linsey does this and I'm excited about it. If I'm going to stay home this summer, we need to find any way we can to save money.
Camille's left eye duct has been clogged since she has been born and I'm getting nervous they are going to have to go in and clear it up with a probe. It just doesn't seem to be getting any better and her pediatrician said that at her 6 mo appointment she would refer me to a pediatric opthamologist if it hadn't cleared up. Does anyone have any comforting words about this?

I just wanted to say how thankful I am that the little baby from Lubbock was found safe. That just bothered me all day Saturday and Sunday. I can't imagine living any minute knowing my baby is missing. Thank you Lord for returning that baby to her family.

A Night to Remember

The last two nights haven't provided much sleep around our house. Her normal schedule for sleeping is going to sleep between 7pm and 8pm, wake up and eat around 3am - 4am and then awake for the day around 7am. Here is schedule of events from last night:
8:00pm - Pedialyte and sleeping well
10:30pm - More Pedialyte and back asleep
1am - More Pedialyte and back asleep
4am - (This is when the party began!) Clayton when to feed her Pedialyte and SUPRISE! I heard my name being called from down the hall. Camille had pooped all in her bed and all over her! I quickly changed her diaper and clothes while she was screaming. Clayton stripped her bed and started a load of laundry. How fun! She then had a bottle of Pedialyte and was wide awake and ready to play. So I put her in her activity station while I pumped a bottle to freeze.
4:30am - I am in bed and Clayton went to change her diaper, again! Suprise! This time she peed all over the changing table between diapers. There goes more dirty laundry.
4:45am - We were all in bed together! We never do this, but last night was an exception. She laid in our bed and read her book while we tried to catch some shut eye. She had the rest of her Pedialyte and fell asleep on me.
6:00am - We're awake again! She's had another dirty diaper. Camille and I headed to the living room and she had time in her swing while I rested on the couch.
7:00am - She's asleep in her swing!
8:45am - She awake and has more Pedialyte.
9:30am - Bath time and play time.
11:00am - She's alseep in her own bed!

Official Count:
3 changes of clothes
2 loads of laundry
1 liter of Pedialyte
ALOT of diapers

I hope this comes to an end soon! I have to say through all of this she has been in a great mood. She doesn't seem to feel bad and hasn't ran fever since Wednesday evening.

Tylenol and Pedialyte

These have been our friends this week. Sweet Camille has caught her first illness from daycare. Of the two infant classes, only one baby did not get diarrhea and fever this week. We went home early on Tuesday with a fever of 100.5 and it quickly went up to 101.6 when we got home. She also had diarrhea but since she is breastfed, this is kind of hard to determine. Her and I stayed home on Wednesday and enjoyed the day together. She was pretty clingy and I just loved cuddling with her all day long. She ran fever all day and had more diarrhea that afternoon. She stayed home with daddy on Thursday and did not run fever all day long. They had fun together reading books and playing with her new toy from Santa (we just put it together). When I came home for lunch Camille was asleep in her crib and Clayton was passed out on the couch. He decided he's not ready to be a stay-at-home dad. I thought he was pretty brave to spend all day with her AND I was so thankful. He's a wonderful daddy! I'm so thankful my little baby has two loving parents and many friends and family that just adore her. So, we decided to go back to school today. We got to school a little before 8am and by 8:30 she had already messed up her first outfit. At 2:00pm she messed up her second outfit and home we went 2 1/2 hours early. She is now drinking Pedialyte, and only Pedialyte. If anyone has any advice on how to get rid of the runny diapers, please help!
