Gymnastics

I enrolled Camille in a summer gymnastic program this year. Here she is in her new suit the day we bought it. She loved it! She wore it all around the house and even slept in it during nap-time.

Yesterday was our first day and she did great! She is one of the oldest in the class and did a great job listening and following directions!

They start off on their yellow circles with bubbles, stretches and scarves.
Then, was her favorite part! There was a circuit set up for them to go through a few times. She couldn't wait to get to the bar! Here is Ms. Sue helping her swing, pull her nose to the bar and even do a pull-over.
They reinforce directional words through out the class. Here she is going "over" the bridge.
One part of the circuit I didn't get a picture of was the incline mat where they did a front roll. The front roll was the one thing we have worked on at home and when she got on the mat, she didn't have a clue! I would try to get her to stand up, put her hands on the mat and tuck her head...she just layed flat on her stomach! She'll get it next time.
And the trampoline (with her eyes shut!).
So proud!
She did great swinging on the rope and holding tight! At the end of class they each got 2 stamps, 1 on their foot and 1 on their hand.
She had so much fun she didn't want to leave! We'll be back next week!

It's too girly!

My mom has offered again to make our bedding for baby Eli! Choosing the fabric has not come as easily as it did with Camille. With Camille, we had to shop at a few different fabric stores before finding the perfect store with the perfect fabrics...pretty easy! With Eli, we have gone to First Monday twice, the "perfect" store we found Camille's bedding, other fabric/boutique shops and MANY websites looking for his fabric. A few weeks ago, we found a great combination and were ready to place an order online...until Eli's daddy came home! "It's too girly!" were his exact words. I'm afraid I will hear these words more times than I want in the future. Although it was blue, green and brown, the polka dots just didn't work with Clayton. After I begged and begged, nothing worked. We started back at square one. Then, we found another print that I fell in love with but it cost 3 times as much as everything we had looked at! On Monday, Camille and I were running around to a few more stores when I found a bedding set already made up with huge brown and white polka dots. We then went home and I searched for some fabric that was similar online. I found this polka dot and stripe pattern online and after looking over her website in detail...the lady was from Keller! I was able to go by the next day and pick it up! So here is the beginning of Eli's room...chocolate brown and white polka dots and stripes with blue accent colors. I'm so excited to get his room together and see what a wonderful job my mom does! She's awesome...and I definitely didn't get that gene.

Relevate

Our church kicked off the summer by making relevant connections that elevate us toward God - Relevate 2009! There were several bounce houses, rock climbing, volleyball, basketball, hot dogs, nachos, sno-cones, cotton candy and live music. It was a great time to spend with our families at church as we get ready to dive into several activities for our kids and youth this summer!
As Nathan and Collin were singing on the back porch, Camille decided to make her debut! She found her version of a microphone and stood as close as she could. Before these pictures were taken, Nathan was singing by himself and she was much closer. She stood with her microphone, swaying from side to side while singing along with him and enjoying every camera pointed her way. She had her first song dedication that night!
