I've been tagged!

10 years ago: I was a senior in high school and ready for college! I was working at a daycare in town after school and babysitting a lot on the weekends! I was also very involved in my church youth group, PALS and cheering. I was also dealing with a hard loss my class endured that year with the loss of two of our classmates.

Things on my to-do list: Clean our house because we have company coming, take down my Valentine decorations and put out spring decorations, mail my niece's birthday gift to her and do our taxes!

What would I do if I became a billionaire? I would stay home with Camille full-time! I would pay off all our debt and our families debt (please remember I said this in case any of you become billionaires as well). I would definitely find people in need to give money to locally and globally.

Three of my bad habits: Procrastination! I always find something I would rather do (most of the time it's blogging) instead of doing what I should be doing (usually some type of cleaning). Not hanging up my clothes. At night when I'm getting ready for bed I'm usually in "the zone" and ready to sleep. I don't take the time to put away my clothes so they usually go on the floor. Then, when I have clean clothes, they move from the couch to the top of my dresser until Clayton gets so tired of them and makes me hang them up. And, falling asleep in movies. This really drives Clayton crazy! I don't know what it is, but I rarely make it through a movie whether it's during the day, at night, at a movie theater or at home. Clayton likes to tell people about me falling asleep during Black Hawk Down in the movie theater. I'm just not a movie person and I loose interest and fall asleep. That's my only explanation.

Five jobs I have had: teacher, many different positions at many different daycares, camp counselor and Asst. Director at ACU Leadership Camps, making snow cones at Cajun Cones and babysitter.

Five things people don't know about me: This is hard because I've already posted 100 things about me...doesn't that cover everything? Here we go...(1) Camille is 16 months old and I'm just now BEGINNING to think about having another child. I had assumed I would be fully ready to be pregnant again at this point, but it's surprisingly taking me a bit longer to be "ready" again. (2) My first teaching job was at the school district I attended K-12. My mentor teacher was my second grade teacher. I only stayed there for one semester before I got married and moved away. (3) I went to ACU wanting to work with kids, but NEVER wanting to be a teacher. I changed my major my sophomore year from social work to elementary education. I LOVE my job! (4) I'm REALLY far behind on Camille's scrapbook! I am just now working on her Easter page from last year! I know that's bad...and she's my first child! (5) I hate taking medicine. I will go several hours with a headache before I actually take some Tylenol. I will go days without feeling well before breaking down and taking medicine. I don't know what I have against...I just don't like it.

I tag April, Delana, Lisa W and Brooke!

Practicing

Camille has been practicing for flip-flop weather. It takes time to learn how to keep those cute shoes on (even with a back strap)! Notice her right foot...that must be uncomfortable! They are so cute on her and she loves wearing them! She needs a pedicure on those toe-nails and she'll be set for spring!

Good Morning Sleepyhead!

This was on Valentine's Day morning when Clayton and I woke our little Valentine up with some goodies. It was hard for her to get going, but once she did, she was excited about her new crayons and coloring book! I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Along with my sweet post, Clayton and I enjoyed a night out to dinner at Razoo's and shopping. Camille got to go play with her friend, Mylie! Thank you Whitney! Camille and I had plans to go to Abilene this past weekend with my good friend, April. Plans changed and we missed out on a lot of fun! We actually decided not to go in fear that the weather was going to get bad, but Camille ended up getting sick. She had her first ear infection (15 months is pretty good!) and ran fever and had a sick stomach all day Saturday. It never really slowed her down much. Although I'm SO sad I missed seeing old friends and a new friend, Adelaide, I'm so glad we didn't end up going with a sick baby! Camille and I did not leave the house from Friday afternoon until Monday morning! I love those days...pj's, no make up, and messy hair!

About the Author (what you may not know)

If you are reading this blog then you likely know Felicia, and as you have guessed by now I am not Felicia. I know most of her posts are about the days events, but I thought I would take this opportunity to give you a personal insight into the author of the blog from a secret writer who knows her well.
Most of you know Felicia's quiet sweet demeanor . But what you may not know is the passionate side of Felicia. She has a strong passion for those she loves, a passion that is revealed threw an enduring love, commitment, and joyous spirit. She loves with all her heart always seeing the best in others. It is this quality that I find amazing. While many of us have those people in our lives that we don't like and usually have negative things to say about, Felicia always seems to see the best in the seemingly most undesirable people. Cynics might say this is because she doesn't voice her displeasure with others, but being one who has spent significant time with her, I can tell you confidently that this is not the case. I believe she has an unusal ability to look past one's faults and emphasize the best qualities in us.
Another quality of Felicia that some do not get to see is her sillyness. While Felicia is normally very well composed, there is a much less refined side that gets unleashed if she is in the right company or believes that she is alone. Whether its siging wonderful ballads all over the house or creating new and bazare gyrating dances that appear as though they could cause severe muscle spasms, Felicia's sillyness knows no bounds.
Finally, I want to leave with something I think many of you already know about Felicia and that is her joyous positive spirit that is overwhelmingly contagious. Just being in her presence one inexplicably finds a grin spread across their face. I believe this is because of the deep rooted joy and love that comes from a faith built from the author of joy and love. This joy is not just present in times of celebration and relative ease, but also in times of uncertainity and pain. This joy draws many near her and warms the hearts of many children that fill her life.
I hope that you have learned something knew about the author of this blog and have a deeper insight into who she really is. In addition, I hope you realize how truly fortunate all of us are for having gotten the chance to know her.

Dance Moves and Adventures

I have been trying to upload Camille's dance moves for some time now. She loves to dance at home, in the car, at church or in the store. We were at the Dollar Tree today and when we would get closer to a speaker, she would get so excited and start dancing in the cart. I'm still working on it! Any advice?

The last couple of weeks have had some pretty excited adventures at our house! Last Monday it was nice outside so we decided to take a family walk around the neighborhood around 5pm. Camille really enjoyed the ride in her wagon! We we got home, I tried opening the door from the garage and it was locked. I don't see the need to lock that door since it's in the garage...but Clayton does. I asked him for the keys and instead, I got a panicked look. He had locked the door and left his keys inside! Great...I had been meaning to hide a key in the garage just in case this ever happened but I never did. Now we were paying for it. We first checked all the windows...locked! Clayton messed with the door for a while just sure he could unlock it with some kind of wire...no luck! We finally decided to call a locksmith. He said he would locate one and call us back in 5 minutes. He has still yet to call us back! Good think we had an extra box of diapers in the garage and a package of graham crackers in the car for Camille and I to eat. It was dinner time! Around 6:30pm our friend, Zane came over to get Camille and I until Clayton was able to get in. Zane and his wife, Brittney have the same floor plan as us and this same thing happened to them before. He told Clayton they were able to pull up in the attic from the garage and climbed THROUGH the house to the opening inside the house! So Clayton did it...all by himself and his flashlight! He crawled through all the insulation and boards and pushed down the ladder into the house.

The next day Clayton was SO sick with some nasty virus where he didn't leave the couch except to use the restroom. He couldn't even talk to me! It was so sad! He had gotten sick to his stomach once and all he wanted was some Scope and 7-Up. When I got back from the store, I couldn't get the 7-Up open. I tried, and tried and tried! I was about to cry out of frustration because that was ALL he wanted and I couldn't get it for him. He even tried with the little amount of strength he had. I got the knife after it, the pliers and hot water. Nothing worked! I ended up poking a hole in the top and pouring it through the hole. Even days later when he was all better, he still couldn't get it open and my hands HURT the next day!

This past Monday I had to take my car into the shop to repair a spot where my uncle backed into my car. I turned my car in at 1pm on Monday and began panicking when I got home because I couldn't find the insurance check (for almost $800) anywhere! I turned my house upside down! I returned to the shop 2 1/2 hours later to search my car. They had already started on my car so there was no turning back at this point...and I didn't find the check. I was praying hard and I had NOT told Clayton at this point. Camille was asleep in the car when we got back home so I just sat for about 5 minutes just praying about all kinds of things...Clayton's reaction, the Insurance Companies reaction and of course that I would find the check! When I walked inside my house I stood next to the fridge and looked at a note I had written up there a few days back. It was written on the back of an envelope! The check was inside! I looked at Camille and said, "God is so good!" I was so relieved! I laugh about it now, but it was SO stressful those few hours of panic!
