4 Months Old

Camille had her 4 month appointment and shots yesterday. She weighed 13lbs 7oz and was 25 inches long. She is a healthy baby but doesn't compare to the Mayo girls! She had 4 more shots and did great with them! I think the cute little Snoopy band-aids helped! She cried and was clingy for a little while, but ran no temperature and was not fussy the rest of the day. What a trooper! The first 4 months have flown by so far and she is so much fun to be with every day! Some of the fun things she is doing now are playing with her tongue, smiling and talking all the time, holding her toys and enjoying them, chewing on her hands and drooling like crazy, loosing her hair and staying awake for much longer than before. She loves church and listening to the singing! We are waiting for her to turn over and/or cut a tooth any day. Here are some pictures of our growing girl (ignore the hairy legs).

Answered Prayers

Many of you have asked about my job situation lately. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers the last few weeks and asking how it is going. God has answered my prayers in a way that I wasn't expecting Him to. I was wanting to get out of my current job as a PreK teacher in the daycare that Camille goes to. I had an interview for a permenant sub position that I was so thankful for and excited about. The night of the interview as I was lying in bed reflecting on my day, I had such a great peace about staying at the daycare. As hard as it is on most days, I am thankful that God heard my prayers, did not give me the sub position, and has kept me with Camille at the daycare. It's amazing how He knows what's best in our lives, isn't it? My sweet mom stayed with Camille on Monday while I had to attend a conference all day for work. That definitely made me realize how hard it would be for me to be away from her all day long. So my plan now is to tough it out for the rest of the school year and hopefully be able to stay home during the summer. As far as the fall goes, I'm still not sure what I will do. I would love to find a part time position that will provide what our family needs. I am also thinking about learning how to do some sewing and sell some baby items on ebay. Please continue to keep me in your prayers as each day has it's new challenges.

McDonald's French Fries

I feel like I could write for hours on our trip this past weekend. We left Thursday evening so that we could have the full day on Friday visiting friends. Camille had many firsts this weekend as she entered the ACU world. We visited friends around ACU Friday morning and then enjoyed praise day at chapel. Camille was so sleepy during chapel, but she loved every minute of it!
We then went to Woodson to spend some time with my lovely co-workers that I miss so much! I could have spent hours and hours there visiting with them all. A positive workplace is something to cherish deeply. It's amazing to be able to work with and around Christians that truly care. I miss you guys!

Saturday morning Camille enjoyed her first Siggie function. She was the hit of the party at the Mother/Daughter breakfast! She was awake and happy during the breakfast until the end when she started falling asleep on my mom's shoulder. As "It's the Yellow and White of Siggies" started chanting through the room, she awoke a little startled and crying. I won't take that personally though.

We then headed to Jason's Deli for lunch and to meet up with my roomies and their families! A couple of the roomies were missing and we missed you both dearly! We finally got to meet sweet Brody! It's so funny how you forget how small they are so quickly. Although I really don't think Camille was ever that small, it's hard to believe how much she has grown in almost 4 months! It's amazing how 2 hours pass so quickly when you are among friends. Here are a few pictures of our reunion!
Saturday night was the big event! Siggies were french fries and Brooke had already given us a sneak preview. Since it began at 8pm and that is Camille's bedtime, I assumed she would sleep all the way through it...wrong! We was so alert and into the first part of the show. She then slept through the last half and woke up for the awards again. Siggies swept the board in every category! Siggies and GSP won for the 6th straight year! Although we wished Moonies would pull it through again, we are definitely proud of the Siggies!

Although she was so off schedule all weekend, Camille did great all weekend long. We again feel so blessed to have such a sweet baby!

Weekend at Home...sort of

This was the first weekend in 3 weeks that we were staying home. We enjoy going to visit family and friends, but it's always nice when we get to stay home! Our to-do-list had been growing all week and we were sure we would get it all done this weekend. We still had Christmas boxes in our house! So Friday after work, I got a phone call from my parents wanting to take us out to dinner. We tried the new Genghis Grill close to us and it was wonderful! It's such a neat place to eat because you get to create your meal from raw meats, veggies, seasoning and much more. Then they cook it in front of you! It's delicious! So mom and dad enjoyed seeing Camille (and Clayton and I).

Saturday I was a hostess for my good friend, Erica's, baby shower. It turned out great and she got lots of great things for her baby Earl! Clayton was planning on babysitting all day, but that morning I decided I wanted her to go with me, so she did. I was so glad I did because Clayton got almost all of our to-do-list completed while I was gone. I came home to a clean and organized home. He's so good at cleaning. I was a little nervous about him taking my boxes out to storage because he's been known to "STUFF" things, but he didn't this time. That night I cooked a nice meal (which I don't do very often anymore) and we enjoyed resting at home.

Tonight we had our 2nd Annual Sweetheart Banquet at church. It was for couples 45 and older at church. Our class and the youth group served them and it was very fancy. We have a chef in our class that cooked prime rib, green beans and mashed potatoes. We got the leftovers and it was delicious! They then played the Not-So-Newlywed Game and it was hilarious! It was sweet to see so many couples that have been married for so many years. That is becoming more and more rare in our world around us.

Clayton and I do not have any Valentine plans yet...any suggestions for the tight budget and a 3 month old baby?

Update on my job: Friday was horrible, but I have an interview tomorrow for a permenant sub position. I would love to take this position, but will loose some money with daycare. Does anyone know of someone who does or would like to watch Camille for almost 3 months in Keller? Please continue to pray about that.

Surprise Granny!

We had a great weekend in Austin celebrating Granny's birthday! It was all a surprise so we spent Friday night and all day Saturday trying to cover up why we came to Austin. Clayton's dad had made reservations at a fancy restaraunt (which was interesting with 2 toddlers and 2 babies) for Saturday night. We had told Rita we were coming to Austin because we were going to "The Lake House" on Saturday night. We actually packed our bags Saturday afternoon and told them bye around 4pm. Rita was so sad to tell Camille bye. Two hours later we all met up again at Siena's. She was so surprised and happy to see us all together. We ordered squid as an appetizer and it was delicious. We weren't sure what we were getting for dinner because we couldn't read it, much less pronounce anything on it. It was all delicious! On our way home, Nathan and Delana picked up cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory for dessert back at the house. The guys then headed over to Adrian and Lisa's house to watch UFC. I was actually in bed at 9:20pm...until Camille woke up five minutes later. I don't know what was up with her last night, but she woke up every 2 hours. That is not like her at all anymore! She usually goes to sleep around 8pm and wakes up once around 3am or 4am. I wouldn't be surprised if she sleeps ALL night long tonight because she's had a long day with little sleep. We left Austin at 1pm and she woke up at 1:30pm. She did not sleep the rest of the way home and once we got home we left again for the Super Bowl Party. She didn't sleep the entire time there and fell asleep on the way home at 8pm.

Congrats Colts! They just won the Super Bowl 29-17. Clayton and I were cheering for them because we like Peyton Manning and Dominic Rhodes. I worked with Dominic's mom in Abilene at Woodson. We had a great half time show at our party with all the kids dancing while Prince was on. There's some talent there in the Pearson family!

Thanks for your prayers on a new job. I became aware of a new opportunity tonight that I would be very excited about. I am trying to stay patient and realize I am not in control of this situation, but that God is and He knows what's best for me and our family. Please continue to pray for us!

Shopper in Training

Aunt Brooke bought her this adorable "Shopper in Training" onesie! It is so fun to dress her up in new clothes all the time! She definitely won't be lacking in the wardrobe for a long time. We just moved out of 0-3 months so we're trying out all the 3-6 months outfits. It's fun but also sad because it means she is getting bigger.

So, when I got my kids up from nap today we were all suprised to see it snowing outside! Thirty minutes later it was really coming down hard! I never remember it snowing so much in Texas before in my life.

Have a great weekend!
