Summer Fun

Clayton's last day of work is tomorrow! YEAH! We are so excited about having daddy around to join in on all the summer fun! His contract year is longer than classroom teachers, so he has to stay around a little longer and go back a little earlier than us...bummer! Camille enjoys getting the pillows layed out and laying back with daddy to watch a good show...probably Barney or Mickey!
Meanwhile, Camille and I have been having a lot of fun lately just the two of us during the day! We have been trying to keep ourselves busy so we don't get bored around the house and we have been successful! The first goal of the summer was to knock out Camille's morning nap. As long as we were out and about and doing something out of the ordinary, we have been successful at that as well. Yesterday, she even slept for 2 1/2 hours! That is huge for us! She is usually awake after an hour (not very long)!

We have really enjoyed swimming alot! We have a pool in the backyard and we have definitely visited our community pool often! With her floaties on, she is Miss Independent! She loves just jumping off the edge (holding our hands) and going under. She also loves just floating and attempting to doggy paddle her way around.

We had a couple of visitors last week that we were SUPER excited about! We met Miss Adelaide and caught up with her momma, Annalee! It was so much fun having them over to our house and being able to just sit and visit for several hours. Annalee is a super talented woman, great momma and wonderful friend! Camille had a hard time sharing her bumbo and crib with Adelaide at first and couldn't understand why she couldn't run around with her in the backyard. When I told Camille to go get her shoes so she could go outside, she checked Adelaide's feet and made sure Annalee put her shoes on, too!
Here is what I caught her doing the other day when I turned my back from washing dishes. She is so independent right now and loves drinking out of a cup with no lid.
We have also been enjoying the zoo! Last Friday, we went with my mom, Aunt Sandy, and cousin Mallory. We had so much fun with them! We rode the train inside the zoo for the first time and even got a close up of the gorilla! We look forward to taking daddy on Monday.

We also had some friends over yesterday to play while their momma had a photoshoot. Camille LOVES P and E and had so much fun with them here! They enjoyed playing in the pool and singing...

Ring a Round the Rosey...

...And they all fall down!

Who's this cutie?

Playa Del Carmen

Clayton and I are back from our wonderful trip to Playa Del Carmen! It was wonderful with some interesting stories to tell. This was where we had our honeymoon 5 years ago so it was fun to reminice on those memories and how our life has changed in 5 short years. We went with Clayton's sister, Delana, and her husband Nathan, Clayton's brother, Adrian, and his wife Lisa. It was a no-kids trip and it was wonderful! We talked about them often and were ready to see them on Wednesday, but it was great for all of us to get away alone! Our adventure began on Saturday morning. We had a lay over in Mexico City with an hour and a half in between. It was just like the movies! Our flight was supposed to leave at 4:50 and we were RUNNING through the airport at 4:50 trying to get to our plane! This was one of the first moments we were thankful we didn't have our children with us. We finally made it took a fairly bumpy ride to Cancun. We made it to our hotel that evening around 9pm. Adrian and Lisa had traveled from San Antonio and had arrived several hours before us. Once we got there, there were no more rooms available. They upgraded us to the 5 star resort just down the road instead! YAHOO! Adrian and Lisa were at the original hotel until the next morning when they transferred them as well.
Our room had a great view of the pool and beach area. Each day our maid would fold our towels on our bed to make different animals. She made a peacock, an elephant and these 2 swans.

Our days pretty much included breakfast, beach, a little rain, lunch, beach, shopping, dressing up for dinner, people watching, talking about our children and some "fun" times. The beach was beautiful and the waves were pretty big! On Tuesday morning, the girls had massage appointments while the guys went to get mopeds (sp?). We all went riding into town and had a blast!

In the evenings we would get dressed up and have dinner at the specialty restaraunts. On Monday night, Clayton and I ate at the Mexican restaraunt. It was delicious! The let us borrow these wonderful sombreros and blankets for a picture. Isn't my pink sombrero cute?
On Tuesday evening we all went to dinner together for an Italian meal. We were stuffed after salad, bread, soup, pasta, main entree and dessert! Here Lisa was taking "real" pictures with her camera. That is why we aren't looking at the camera. It is also kind of blurry because it was so humid. And here we are on our shuttle at DFW to our truck. Almost back to reality. We were SO ready to see Camille! When we walked in the house, our suitcases were dropped at the front door (where they still are) and she just danced around with a huge smile on her face. I think she was a little overwhelmed. It was amazing how much she seemed to change in 5 days! She had so much fun with Nana and Grandad while were away. It made for a great get-away knowing she was being well taken care of!

Whoa...this is gonna be long!

It's been busy around here so here is my best at trying to catch it all.

We've been to the "big" pool a couple of times and Camille has loved it. She wears arm floaties and loves holding my fingers and jumping in from the side. I can't get her to say "one" at all. If I say, "Say one", she'll say "two." But she absolutely loves being in the water!
Aren't these just some cute pictures? She's growing so quickly! We also had her first 'official' haircut. She's had a few from me, my mom and her teacher at CCY last year, but those don't really count as a 'real' haircut. I took her to Cool Cuts and we met her friend, Mylie, there. It was a fun experience and we got lots of pictures! It is very hard to get a good picture of these two girls together! Some of their expressions in these pictures looks like they're not sure what's going on.

We also celebrated Clayton's birthday at the end of May. We ended up going out with some friends to a FW Cats game on his birthday. The next night we met my parents for dinner to celebrate and then topped it off with is favorite...a cookie cake! At dinner on Saturday, we learned that Camille is a pro at the corn on the cob! She loved it!

This week we went to the Fort Worth Zoo and got a membership. This was Camille's 3rd time to the zoo, but the first time I think she really enjoyed it! We made this trip with our friends, Whitney, Mylie and Coley (which was a great trooper!). We look forward to many more trips this year! In this first picture Camille is looking at a turtle.

I have been packing and cleaning a lot the last two days getting ready for our vacation to Mexico! Camille will be staying with my parents. I know she will have a great time and we are looking forward to time alone, BUT we are really going to miss our little girl! Today as I was cleaning, things got REAL quiet. That always make me curious! This is what I found. My sweet girl just sitting in her room reading her books. This isn't the first time I have caught her doing this, just the first time I caught a picture of it. She loves reading and being read to. I love listening to her read to herself! Please keep us in your prayers as we travel away from Camille. Pictures of Mexico coming soon!
